Power, Violence, and Labor in Eurasia Between the Ancient and the Modern

Upon arriving in Chicago, the cheapest way to get to the University Chicago campus is by public transportation. Signs at O'Hare airport will guide you to the Blue Line CTA trains which run fairly regularly to downtown. Get off at Jackson station and take either the southbound Number 6 bus or the Metra Electric Line train from the Van Buren Station (located at Van Buren and Michigan streets). Both modes of transport will drop you off on the east side of Hyde Park. Ask the driver/conductor for which stop you'll need - it should be somewhere between 51st and 59th street.

A slightly more expensive, although convenient, choice is to travel by Omega Shuttle. Omega Shuttle performs regular runs to the University Neighborhood (Hyde Park) on the city's south side. The shuttle will cost between $16-$30 per person, depending on which airport (O'Hare or Midway) you are coming from. For exact route times and contact information see http://www.omegashuttle.com

The easiest way to get to the University of Chicago from either airport or the train station is by taxi cab. The cost for such a ride varies, but it is about $23 from Midway, about $10 from Union Station (train), and about $55 from O'Hare.
